Explore a globally rare tallgrass plant community at the foot of the Front Range in Boulder. August is the height of growth for this grassland community; plant ecologist Lynn Riedel will help with identification and discuss the cultural needs of native grasses and mid to late summer prairie wildflowers. A plant list will be provided.

Attendees should expect to hike 2-3 miles at a slow to moderate pace over relatively level, but very rocky terrain. There is no shade, and windy conditions are likely. Please bring plenty of water, wear sun protection and closed-toed shoes (cacti), and dress appropriately for warm or cool weather.
